You were kinda wrong because despicable me which made a theme about caring about family and you can be great,as well as you saying they don't make good movies is kinda wrong and it's not my opinion and a fact because 2 sing movies is just koala lying and illumination is making good movies again (SING 2 doesn't count). Despicable me 4 and disney has bad movies aswell as live actions they want only money the good was ages ago,the bad is a little modern.It's not fair to compare other movies with disney and other movies from illumunation sure thwy make bad movies but some make good themes.

In my personal opinion, I didn’t absolutely hate this movie but I didn’t like it. IT WAS JUST (besides a couple of good scenes) BORING 4.5/10

Synopsis of what "Lightyear" should've been (this might be very cliché): It begins when we see a fleet of Star Command rangers battling space criminals, and one of them turns out to be Buzz's father, who was the captain. Afterwards, some bad news was brought up to the Lightyear family, for Captain Lightyear was killed before he could escape with the other rangers. Thus a young Buzz makes a vow to become the best space ranger in honor of his father & sworn to find who was responsible for his dad's death. Years have gone by when Buzz grows up to be a confident yet cocky rookie with a rag-tag team by his side, but during one of the missions, Buzz had come across a familiar robotic looking figure, Zurg, who has become a very powerful overlord that many rangers had gotten injured or died before they could even lay a finger on him. Buzz had managed to escape before he met his fate, but that encounter had not only humbled him down a bit, but made Buzz come to the conclusion that it was Zurg who had killed his father (for he had found his father's old ranger badge in the lair). And the rest is history. It's not much, but I think it would've been a much more fitting movie for a 6-7 year old Andy would've loved. Not to mention that it would've made Andy have a connection with Buzz Lightyear, because [Andy] had lost his father too (at some point before Molly was old enough to stand up by herself).

What sucks for me is that I really liked the Doom Syndicate's designs (except Pierre Pressure, nobody likes him lol) and then they get thrown into this excuse for a sequel. Like, it doesn't even make sense for them to be here, considering what the first film established. Petition to make a new canon so they at least have a reason to exist \/

The saddest part is that the same writers who wrote Megamind 1 wrote This Garbage.

Why is the lesson this movie gives to kids better than WISH? Did Adam Sandler make this movie with this idea in mind?? Because honestly, good for him. This worked because it came from a genuine place, and its clear that it was made with the messages and lessons in mind. And I honestly can't remember the last kids movie that was on a genuine track to having a clear and good "moral" for kids to relate to or mirror. It basically says "feeling emotions isn't cringe, and you should share them with those around you". Not to mention that also telling kids that emotional therapy and mentor relationships can be beneficial. Somehow this hit the mark on what most modern "kids content" is lacking, which is ACTUAL SUBSTANCE. Why did it take this industry Adam Sandler as a lizard to remind them of what the point of story telling is???

I'm here and a fan now, hi. Been binging some of these and enjoying myself a lot. I decided to add a comment on this one because I was one of the people who hated Chris Pratt as Mario. So I typed a little rant of my own. For me, it was not the little details, but the glaringly big issue with animation these days: My issue with Chris Pratt's Mario is that animation studios are now prioritizing 'star power' over professional voice actors. Is Chris Pratt an actor? Yes. Is he a VOICE actor? No. "What's the difference?" ACTORS PLAY A CHARACTER THAT OFTEN TAKES INSIPIRATION FROM THEIR ACTOR. VOICE ACTORS ATTUNE A VOICE IMPRESSION TO EMPHASIZE THE CHARACTER AND NOT THEMSELVES. A voice actor NOT doing actual acting takes the personality away from the character. Instead of it being just "Mario" it's now "Chris Pratt's Mario" which is not the same thing. Voice actors for major animated projects sometimes DIDN'T EVEN ORIGINALLY GET CREDITS because the goal for an animated character is for them to have a unique, personal identity. And what felt insulting is watching the most simple identity be ignored because YOU'RE RIGHT! MARIO IS A SIMPLE VIDEO GAME CHARACTER. MARIO'S ENTIRE IDENTITY IS BEING AN ITALIAN PLUMBER, IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANYTHING ELSE BUT THAT! AND ESPECIALLY FOR HIM TO BE VOICED BY SOMEONE WHO IS NOT A VOICE ACTOR. Now see, it wasn't really Chris Pratt's fault that this happened. They probably DIRECTED HIM to voice the character as himself FOR THE STAR POWER. He just faced the brunt of it because he was the voice. And they brought on the ACTUAL voice actor to be the Stan Lee of this movie but without the recognition or salary. because VOICE ACTORS, CAN DO MULTIPLE VOICES AND EMBODY THE CHARACTER! THAT'S THE ENTIRE POINT! Designing an animated character around a voice actor would have gotten you FIRED. This is a change that is not for the better of entertainment, AND I LOSE MY MIND EVERY TIME I SEE IT HAPPEN NOW. So they keep designing characters to suit THE ACTOR'S voice and personality, and THIS MOVIE IS AN EXAMPLE AS TO WHY IT'S SO DUMB! So no, I'm not mad at Chris Pratt. He did his best. But he was not set up for success and did not have the requirements for the role.

Migration used a millennial Salt Bae into the main villain. This movie is insanely underrated, happy to have watched it in theaters. Hope it gets the appreciation it deserves someday.

While Asha's I want song isn't terrible, it is as generic as possible. Every other Disney princess I want song has them want something specific. Mulan wants to be able to look at her reflection and see someone she can call herself, Belle wants adventure and to have more than a simple provincial life, Asha wants.... something. Just something. And this is only made worse by the fact that they talked about vague wishes, like, 2 minutes prior to this song. If inspiring the next generation is too vague, then Asha's wish would probably get thrown out of the tower.

Correction. The sequel and the show was produced by Dreamworks animation "television". Megamind and the Doom Syndicate isn't really meant to be a theatrical release - at least that's what I think it is - and the quote on quote television studio is ironically known for the supplements of Dreamworks animation films. You know, the kid shows??

They only beat spider man because miles morales is black and if you have a black character the movie instantly dies in the Asian market and the black character is censored heavily on posters. Also I am surprised that cloud people weren’t censored because the creator is Korean. Oh wait they were because they are in the sky and barely in the movie. Also why is wade voiced by a black guy when he represents white people?
